Financing proposed by Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation

The Foundation offers loans, guarantees or even equity investments to microfinance institutions (MFIs) that meet at least the following criteria:

  • have existed for two years,
  • portfolio of outstanding loans is higher than 650,000 €,
  • accounts are audited annually.

Eligibility criteria

In its financing decisions, the Foundation takes into account the financial situation of the MFI as much as its social mission and its respect of ethical principles and governance.

Good-quality portfolio (PAR 30 < 5%)Social mission that especially seeks to reach poor or excluded people, women and/or the rural world and agricultural activities
Operational viability already or almost reached (OSS > 95 %)

Average loan per borrower reflects suitable targeting.

Solid business plan that includes financial projectionsResponsible interest rates practiced
Ability to produce quarterly reporting including balance sheet, income statement and portfolio at riskGovernance that ensures the social mission will be maintained over time
A healthy balance sheet structure (Debt / Equity ratio < 5)Respect of principles of informing and protecting clients
